I’ve just begun my own edit of the third book in the Empire Of Shadows series. The read-through went well, but there were a couple of structural points that jumped out at me. I need one or two extra chapters, I think, just to open up the action a bit more in places. It feels too condensed and back-tracky (technical term). Nothing major but it all takes time.
I always convert my manuscript (not actually a manuscript, as I don’t write by hand) to an ebook file and read it on my Kindle. It makes it look more like a real book which I find is useful for spotting typos. At the same time, it still allows me to highlight sections and add notes.
