The blog tour starts today.

I’ve never had a blog tour before so I’m extremely excited – if a little apprehensive. To be honest, I wasn’t even sure what one is or how to set it up. But I was lucky enough to meet Rachel Gilbey, the doyenne of blog tour organisers, at Barry Forshaw’s book launch for his latest book Historical Noir. I was already thinking that a blog tour might be a good way to spread the word about The Red Hand of Fury – these days us writers have to do whatever we can – so I got in touch with Rachel afterwards and she took me through the options.

I decided on a ten day tour, with a maximum of three bloggers each day. The next phase was recruiting bloggers to take part, which Rachel took care of. It was great to see the slots on the tour gradually fill up.

The Red Hand of Fury tour runs until the 5th July, with three bloggers a day. There will be reviews, interviews and book extracts. I’ll be posting links here and on twitter. Hopefully it will help to create a bit of a buzz about the book. That’s the idea anyhow.

Many thanks to Rachel of Rachel’s Random Resources for all her hard work in organising it. I absolutely know I couldn’t have done it without her. She was calm and professional throughout and obviously has a great relationship with book bloggers.

First blog in the tour is Donna’s Book Blog. Check out what she had to say. (I think she liked it – phew!)
