Using Frans Masereel to generate plot

Last night I ran a workshop with students from the City University MA Novel Writing course. We were looking at plotting. I took in some cards made from images from Frans Masereel‘s amazing series of woodcuts, The City (1925). The students dealt them out and used the pictures to stimulate ideas for a story of their own. It seemed to work pretty well. I didn’t have to do much at all!

So any suggestions for a Story Trigger prompted by the picture above?
