I found out this morning that A Razor Wrapped in Silk was one of four books that “just missed out” on being shortlisted for the 2010 CWA Ellis Peters Award. Congratulations to the winner Rory Clements for his novel Revenger.
I have a slight sense of deja vu, as A Vengeful Longing was highly commended for the same award in 2008, again without making it onto the shortlist (despite being shortlisted for that year’s main CWA award, the Duncan Lawrie Dagger, now called the Gold Dagger).
Still, I’m extremely pleased with getting this recognition. There are some great historical crime writers out there, and to be up there in the CWA’s top ten is wonderful. My thanks to the judges for being so generous as to mention the books that nearly made it.
