York Festival of Writing

I’ve been booked to do a workshop on ‘Constructing the Perfect Mystery’ at the York Festival of Writing, which takes place over the weekend of 9-11 April 2010.

This is from the Festival website:

Welcome to the Festival of Writing, York 2010

This festival is for you, the writer. We know how hard it is to break into print, and the Festival is designed to give you everything you need to succeed.

The Festival has a host of workshops led by top authors on how to write – how to self-edit your work – how to approach agents – and much else.

We’ve also got numerous agents coming along to the event and you’ll be invited to pitch your work to them one-on-one.

We’ll also have loads of top editors, publishers and other industry experts. You’ll be listening to them, asking them questions – and have loads of opportunities for informal meetings too.

Hi, I’m most interested in attending this York Festival as it will give me the opportunity that I’ve dreamt of all my life and that is to show people my work as an unpublished writer. Please can you e-mail me on how much the booking fee is. I heard about this through the brilliant Cornerstones which is certainly a great place to start. That and the bible to all writers, The Writers and Artists Yearbook Handbook. Im writing a novel as well as doing a creative writing course with the O.U so this I think will higly benefit me, as well as move me further to the path I want to take. Please reply soon, Suraiya
