The Independent names its top crime and thriller titles of 2011

Absolutely thrilled to be mentioned in dispatches in Barry Forshaw’s round-up of his favourite crime and thriller books of the year, here.

For those of you who can’t be bothered to follow the link, he describes The Cleansing Flames as

“a poignant finish to an exemplary series.”

Thank you, Barry. He also praises my fellow North London Historical Crime Writer and Faber stablemate Andrew Martin for his novel The Somme Stations, which is “a mesmerising mystery and a sober meditation on war”.
