A week away from publication

UPDATE: P-day today April 1! Competition now closed! I have already printed off the entrants’ names.

So this Thursday, the first of April, is the official publication day of my new novel A RAZOR WRAPPED IN SILK. It’s the third of my historical mysteries featuring Porfiry Petrovich, the investigating magistrate I have taken from Dostoevsky‘s masterpiece, CRIME AND PUNISHMENT.

To celebrate the publication, I’ll be running a little competition, with copies of the book as prizes. Actually, it’s not so much a competition as a straightforward lottery. I’ll simply be asking people to throw their hats into the ring in comments below. Then I’ll use the list randomizer on random.org and give books to the top ten names on the list it generates. The winners will be picked on publication day, April 1, 2010.

No purchase required. No skill involved. Just leave your name, and if you feel like it some kind of comment.

STOP PRESS. There is a geographic restriction for the competition – Europe. So, UK and European entries only please.

STOP PRESS #2. I will be signing the books before they get sent out!

STOP PRESS #3: COMPETITION NOW CLOSED!

And now, to get you in the mood, here’s the trailer:
